Venus Hall began training at Joseph Holmes Chicago Dance Theatre. She was an all-city winner of dance in the NAACP ACT-SO Competition. She received a B.F.A. from Barat College and graduated as a member of The National Honor Key Society. She joined the prestigious Alvin Ailey Company in 1995, performing with them nationally and internationally for ten years. She worked with  choreographers such as Judith Jamison, George Faison, Dwight Rhoden, Alonzo King, Ron Brown, and many others. Miss Hall is very excited to be at New World Dance.

Terry Bixler - Creative Director

Terry is the former dancer/choreographer for Janet Jackson and founder of L.A. City Rockers.  He travels nationally to teach master classes and share his unique choreography, known for fusing aspects of old school hip hop dance with today's modern styles .  His work has won several National Choreographer-of-the-Year Awards and nine Grand National Championships in Las Vegas.

  


Brandy Thilesen

Brandy began choreographing at a young age of eleven.  She later became a member of the Tremaine Teen Company, under the direction of Marguerite Derricks. Brandy has studied with artists such as Rei Aoo, Red Savage, Terry Bixler, Jayson Wright, Joanne Bruchez, and many others. She has performed at the Moro Landis Studios Gala, the Sunset House of Blues, Arnold Scwarzenegger's Firm on Fitness physical education program. She has choreographed many works that have been performed at numerous competitions nationwide and has also choreographed for Hart High School's Dance Team and Canyon High School Dance Team, winning championship titles.  Brandy was awarded Teacher of the Year in 2008, 2010, 2011, 2018 and Choreographer of the Year also in 2008, 2009, 2012, 2013, & 2018 at Kids Artistic Review National Finals in Las Vegas, Nevada. Her choreography has also been featured at The Carnival: Choreographer's Ball at the Key Club in Hollywood.

With a keen eye for detail and the insight of a visionary, Chris Payne Dupre' has created works on stage and screen that have captivated audiences the world over.  As Supervising Choreographer on the NBC television show "America's Got Talent" and Youtube's "Best Cover Ever" with Ryan Seacrest and Ludacris, Chris worked to polish and transform a variety of weekly contestants, into world-class entertainers.  His work has been seen on the FOX television show “Take Me Out,” with host George Lopez, the Soul Train Awards and the HBO series "Arli$$".  He has done movement coaching for actors Seth Green and Christina Applegate and choreographed performances for renowned musical artists such as Prince, Sean "Diddy" Combs, Paulina Rubio, Ludacris and rock icons Jane's Addiction.  Chris has worked with Diana Ross, Janet Jackson, Paula Abdul, Brian McKnight, Kylie Minogue, Enrique Iglesias, Ludacris, Katy Perry, the Backstreet Boys, Demi Lovato, Jason Derulo, and the legendary Mel Torme. He has performed on the 68th Academy Awards, Superbowl XXX & XXXII, the made-for-TV movie "Cinderella," Disney’s feature film "Newsies" and the Tony & Grammy award winning Original Broadway Cast of Elton John and Tim Rice's "Aida." Chris has had the privilege of working in film, television and stage with such notable directors as Rob Reiner (Rumor Has It), Robert Zemeckis (A Christmas Carol), Tom Hanks (That Thing You Do), Chris Columbus (Rent), John Landis  (Pepsi) and Garry Marshall (LA Opera).

Kayla Nieto

Beginning her dance journey here at New World and eventually joining the dance crew, Soul Fresh, directed by Ricky Cole, Kayla has furthered her craft and has been choreographing/teaching for several years.  Her choreography won first place overall in 2018 for New World’s competitive team “S-Squad.”  Combining her passion for dance and love for her students, she aims to help dancers develop the necessary skills to execute choreography while also building self-confidence.  Kayla currently works with several of New World’s competitive Hip-Hop teams and teaches The AVE community classes

Victoria Reina

Victoria has been teaching the art of hip hop dance to children for over ten years. She currently directs the Dance Program and Dance Team at Canyon High School.  She also works in Physical Therapy, which allows her to fuse her education and knowledge in the areas of physiology and kinesiology into her dance classes, creating a highly efficient and healthy teaching style. She is truly a dedicated and committed instructor and our students love her!


Megan Van Pelt

Megan has been dancing since the age of three, competing since the age of five, and teaching since the age of 24. She has coached various school dance teams. She was captain of her high school dance team and eventually became the coach and choreographer for that very dance team. Megan loves being a part of the New World Dance Family and is excited to continue to share her passion of dance with the next generation of dancers.

Morgan Geraghty

With a B.A. degree in Dance and Communication from UCSB, Morgan has expertise in various styles of dance. She is an award-winning choreographer and has trained under Brian Friedman, Dana Foglia, Kolanie Marks, Gerran Reese, Renee Ritchie, Jose BoyBoi Tena, Ricky Cole, and more. Her credits include: Janet Jackson, CD9, Emblem 3 “Waking Up” Tour, Every Single Step, Comedy Central. We are happy to have her with us!

GABRIEL PADILLA

Gabriel has worked as a teacher/choreographer for several years, recently winning "Best Teacher" award and the "Ultimate Achievement Award" for highest scoring choreography. His credits include BTS, Enhyphen, Nappy Taps, World of Dance, and more. He currently works with our Advanced Hip Hop Competition Teams and teaches several of our AVE community dance classes here at New World Dance. He was a member of GRV and the director of Snowtorious. We are happy to have Gabriel with us here at New World Dance and The AVE to provide our students with his artistry.

JANSEN SAN JUAN

Jansen’s journey in the arts began at age 15 and he is currently pursuing it professionally. His credits in America’s Got Talent, So You Think You Can Dance, Halloween Horror Nights Orlando, and more. Jansen is currently our advanced hip hop teacher, the director of our adult competitive hip hop team, and has won various awards for his work. He’s taught all over Southern California, Florida, Illinois and Texas, Costa Rica and Mexico. Striving to teach more than movement, he hopes to serve his purpose as he continues to share the crucial lessons he has learnt about life through the arts. Jansen aspires to assist students of all levels on their journey to find themselves as artists alongside him.

HANNAH KAMPERIN

Hannah has several years of experience choreographing for studios and competitions. She has performed and choreographed for multiple routines all over the world, including Africa and Asia. She studied at the Washington School of Ballet and has won multiple national championships in jazz, tap, ballet, hip hop, musical theater, and pointe.

Mathew San Jose is excited to be joining New World Theatre with the hopes of bringing all of our students one step closer to making their dreams a reality. Mathew grew up in Santa Clarita starting his acting career in Golden Valley High School. Since then, he has become a graduate of the acting program at Pepperdine University and his craft has taken him around theworld! He’s had the opportunity to perform onstage and on screen in the Philippines, Australia, Scotland, and the United States. Mathew can’t wait to meet you and get started.

sean quinn

Sean Quinn is a costume designer, performer, and teaching artist from Los Angeles. Sean graduated with a BA in Theatre Arts, concentrating on costume design and acting, from Rutgers University in May of 2014. Sean worked in the greater Philadelphia as a costumer (The Eagle Theatre, Hedgerow Theatre, Ocean City Theatre Co) and children’s theatre performer (Garden State Discovery, Adventure Aquarium.) Sean began directing and teaching theatre during her college years and has continued to work with students on theatre fundamentals and stagecraft art ever since (Delaware Theatre Company, Rutgers University, Museum of the American Revolution, Two River Theatre Company, Kidspace.)
